A Learning Curve

During my third year at university, I embarked on an enriching placement with the indie studio Blueprint Games (also known as Blueprint Digital Media). As part of a dynamic and compact team, I embraced the versatile role of a ‘floating’ Game Designer. This unique position afforded me the opportunity to delve into and contribute across multiple domains, including:

  • Level Designer using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4)

  • Environment Artist within UE4

  • Scripter with UE4 Blueprints

  • 3D Modeller via Maya

  • Texture Artist through Substance Painter

My tenure at Blueprint was predominantly spent as a 3D and Texture Artist for the studio’s debut horror title, Relapse, set in an abandoned mental asylum in the UK. The assets I meticulously crafted were integral props designed for close-up inspection, necessitating an exceptional level of detail to enhance the immersive experience.
